If you are a fan of DJI’s Mavic series, you are in luck as they introduced two better and newer drones: Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom.
Both drones have diverse features and offer something different, which makes it difficult to choose which one might be the best for you. Therefore, to help you decide which drone you should purchase and why, here is a list of a number of differences between the two drones:
The camera of the Mavic 2 Pro is square on the outside and has a small rounded lens inside. This is done as the image sensor size is quite large.
Whereas, the camera design of Mavic 2 Zoom is small, durable, and symmetrical.
Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom are small in size with a takeoff weight of 907 g and 905 g, respectively. Even though they are small and light weighted, these two drones are packed with new innovative technology that makes them withstand a wind speed of up to 38 km/h.
The Mavic 2 Pro has a 1-inch image sensor size with an image resolution of 20 megapixels. Whereas, the Mavic 2 Zoom has a 1/2.3 inch image sensor size and an image resolution of 12 megapixels. The ISO range of Mavic 2 Pro can go from 100-12800, whereas, the Mavic 2 Zoom offers an ISO range of 100-3200.
Due to better colors, new H.265 video codec, and higher bitrate, the quality of the video has enhanced in both the drones. Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom can record at 100Mbps.
Zoom vs No Zoom:
The Mavic 2 Zoom comes with a 24mm-48mm focal length zoom lens. This allows you to take perfect shots from a long distance. Once you see the quality of the image, you will be impressed by the outcomes.
Whereas, Mavic 2 Pro has a fixed lens with no zooming lens.
If you love landscape photography, Mavic 2 Zoom is perfect for you as it comes with Super Resolution. It enables you to take multiple pictures and combines them into one image with 4x the resolution of a standard photo. But this feature does not allow you to take shots with movement.
Even though the Mavic 2 Pro does not come with Super Resolution, but if you are looking for a camera with great video quality, Mavic 2 Pro creates sharp images. This is good for many occasions, and as the pixels are real, it lets you capture amazing shots with movement.
When it comes to deciding which one you should buy, it might be a tough decision as both of these drones are great. Your decision depends upon what sort of camera you need and for what. Even though the Mavic 2 Pro offers images with clarity and HDR videos and movement shots, but if you are looking for a drone with quick focus and a zooming feature, the Mavic 2 Zoom is the right choice for you.
